Why not have the kids design the bulletin board? Have them work in groups and rotate the groups through the year, so that the board will be ever-changing? Focus on the people/authors you teach about.(or whatever) If it's a big bulletin board, split it down the middle with some border and let half be S.S. and the other be L.A. For now, do a big "Coming Soon by students near you!" sign on the blank bulletin board to pique their interest. Hope this helps.
