What I do

Hi! When I have a new student I talk to the class when the child is not present (in my school the guidance counselor meets with each new child, so I usually use this time.) We talk about how it feels o be new somewhere, and I challenge my students to go out of their way to make the student feel welcome, invite them to play, etc. Usually this works really well.. and quickly he new student hooks up with some new friends. Hope this helps!
