writing in primary

I posted this over on the first grade board, but will repeat it here. I can't think of the name of the book, but Marcia Freeman has an excellent book on writing workshop in primary or "Kid writing" published by the Wright group. What I particularly like about this type of workshop is that it meets the needs of the kids at whatever level they are. The low kids work in their "zone of proximal development" as do the high kids and all those in between.
