Copycat

I have a new student who does this too. When her records finally arrived we found out that she has an IEP for a language processing deficit. Sometimes, she is copying because she cannot get what I say the first TEN times. This child is much like you describe, a follower. Her confidence is so low that she copies answers even when she could do better on her own. Whe attends language pullout two times a week but I would also appreciate any strategies someone can offer.
