Have you ever heard of Odyssey of the Mind? This is a great way for gifted students to learn. While it is a competition, you could just get the information and have your students solve the problems. I have coached OM teams before and taken my teams to Boulder, CO, Ames, IO, and Knoxville, TN for International competetion. Part of the class could be organizing ways to earn money for the trips if your team makes it. There are areas of competition for grades 4 on up.
