Tunnels novel

I am in Saskatchewan. Within our division, we found that students struggled somewhat with this novel, as it is a higher reading level and somewhat longer than other novels recommended by Sask. Ed. for Grade 5, which I teach. We came to an unofficial agreement within our schools that we would do Eric Wilson books in Grade 5 and "Tunnels" in Grade 6. We also then tie in our year-end trips accordingly, with some Grade 6 classes going to see the tunnels in Moose Jaw.Donna
