Check out dell.com. They usually are running a special on either upgrades, free shipping, or adding a DVD/CD Rom. We have bought 4 computers from Dell in the last 2 years (1 for ourselves, then 3 for our college daughters -- ouch!), and have been totally happy. The last computer we bought this past summer was a notebook and it was very reasonably priced. I called the Dell 1-800 number and talked with a salesperson for a long time about my options. They were very informative.
