2nd graders LOVE this kind of stuff, yet are horrified by the "s" word (stupid). The teacher went way overboard. One of my students wrote in his journal that someone ran into him and hurt his bal**. I took him aside, told him that I was sorry to hear that he had been hurt, but that that word was not a word to use at school. I suggested that if he was ever hurt there, that he just said "his private area." No embarassment, no problem. Trust your instincts.
