I play a game like hangman with my kids...I put the spaces on the board for the amount of letters. Then I tell them the definition of the word. The students then guess letters and I fill the letters in the correct spaces.(maybe it is more like wheel of fortune). Anyway, this is how I introduce vocab words and the kidss love it. I really like your idea about keeping the vocab words you learned on note cards. I think I will start that tomorrow.
