I always put the students names on my word wall. It helps them put words in ABC order and they love being able to use the word wall to spell all their friends names. We graph the number of letters in their name.
I also make a class book that says the students name and something they like that starts with the same letter. For example, my page might say Jenni likes jelly beans, or Jenni likes juice. Then have the students draw a picture of what they like.
