Early Childhood Classes

I have an associates in Teacher Preparation. I received it at Patrick Henry Community College in Martinsville, Va. I wanted to get a bachelors degree and when I checked with a couple of 4 year colleges here, they said that my early childhood classes would not transfer. I am really upset about this and would love to know if anyone knows of a 4 year college that would accept my classes. I would tell anyone to make sure that what you take transfers so you will not run into this problem.
