HOpefully, your friend will be given basic staples, such as colored paper, scissors, glue/glue sticks, crayons, pencils and paper by his school. Here are some items I can't do without.:
Art center: Play-doh, stencils, dot markers, watercolors
Literacy center: ABC rubber stamps/ink pads, magnetic board/ABC magnets, consonant/rhyming BINGO games, dry-erase boards/markers, word wall set
Math center: lacing patterns, linking cubes, pattern blocks/tangrams
General: stickers, theme/holiday related books, gift certificates to a teacher's resource store or a craft store, a big bottle of aspirin(!!)
