I don't know what size city you are looking for, but I know NYC is always looking for teachers. Another option would be Baltimore City School District. I know people who teach in both districts who seem pretty happy. Washington, DC is another option. I know there are a lot of suburbs between Baltimore and Washington that are in need of teachers, and are definitely accepting of diversity!

I hope you find what you are looking for. I know this decision must be hard for you, but remember: Everything happens for a reason!
