reading as homework
By JJ

Clip to ScrapBook
I have the children take home a book to read every night. They each have a plastic one-zip bag and they choose a book at their level to take home and read. If they don't return it the next day, they don't get to take home a new one. Most students bring it back daily and are doing their reading at home each night. I do this and one other piece of homework each week. I think first graders need to have time to play and be kids after school. They work hard all day.
