I started sending home Take-home-books. Each child has a ziplock bag and gets to choose a book to take home each night. They also have a reading log to fill out. Parents love it, because they don't always have a time to go to the library and get books or the money to buy books. So this way they get a new book every day and I make sure the books are at their independent reading level. When they fill up an entire reading log (20 days), they will get a small prize....pencil, sticker, candy, etc.
