I visit a local grocery store with the kids, and the produce manager shows them how he stores and handles apples, talks about where they all come from and what each is best for. They taste apple chips and fruit leather there, and each chooses an apple to bring back to the room for activities like those of the other posters. Then some parents help us peel and cool them into applesauce. For decorating the trees to show the four seasons - consider using pink popcorn for the blossoms, and print red with wine corks for the fall.
