shoe island

If you are doing continents and oceans, I found a great idea from another board here. It is called shoe island. I did it with my class last week to learn about the continents and oceans and it turned out great! THe kids traced their shoe or foot onto plain white paper, then had to use a map to figure out where they wanted to put their island. It helped out with map skills tremendously becuase the kids had to put their island in the correct place as if it was in the map. I hope this idea works for you!!
