This is my third year of teaching first grade. I think it is the most rewarding year. It is so great to watch these little kids learn so much throughout the year. I teach in Ohio so our standards are set pretty high. We teach about everything. We teach reading, writing (beginning, middle, end) math, science and social studies. Our kids have to come in knowing how to read. They do teach them how to read in Kindergarten. It depends on what your state requires. Let me know if you need anything else! Good luck!
