changing word wall
By Chantal

Clip to ScrapBook
I use a pocket chart and write the words that are appropriate to the topic we are studying. If we are working on Earth Science then words like tectonic, pangea, atmosphere, igneous, etc... are the words that are in the word wall. We add words as topic(s) get more complex. This way, when the students are writing, they can refer to the wall and it relates. Some students also keep mini wordwalls on their desks for words they struggle with. Often, words that relate to Science, S.S., and Lang.Arts are combined in one wall. (I do not separate by topic)
