SSR

We are instituting 4 Blocks at our school this year as well. I have a first grade class with 5 children who are hearing impaired and 5 who are not. We have been back to school for 4 weeks now, and I am pleased with how SSR is going. I had to start with short time periods of 5-10 minutes after I completed the teacher read aloud. I trained the children to get 2 books at which to look for the given time period. At the end of that time, 2 kids get to share what they "read". Good luck!
