Hi in 3rd grade I know the teachers give them 100 addition in 3 minutes, when they past that they get 100 subtraction in 3 min. They use something called precision testing. I am not real sure what it is besides time testing.

IN 4th I expect my students to complete 90 problems of multiplication in 5 min. I make a game out of it and they try to beat their own times each week.

I don't focus on division time testing because when I teach mult. we talk about how division is the opposite of multiplication....but I am considering giving timed test just to see how my theory works.
