I love Tomie De Paola books! Your children will benefit from them. I like two activities with my low readers taht involve sequencing. For Strega Nona, you can make (or have the kids make) a picture of Strega Nona and a picture of Anthony. Then you can write on sentences strips or index cards some things that each of them says or does. The student then has to match the card to the correct person. Also, there is a great site that you can go to to download sequencing cards for Charlie Needs a Cloak, it is www.curry.edschool.virginia.edu
