observation tips
By MR

Clip to ScrapBook
I've done a review lesson that was observed and it turned out great. Think of an attention-getting anticipatory set. Then, ask some basic review questions. Play a game of some sort or just model on the overhead for a guided practice review. Then, have them do independent practice with the skill--just think of a different way than how they've done it before. Example: I'm being observed on a lesson about patterns in math. We'll review and do a worksheet from the book together. Then, since we're studying pumpkins, they'll use different color and sized pumpkins to make and extend their own patterns. Make sure the directions you give the students are very explicit. I hope this helps.
