behavioural issues.....

I am not a teacher yet, but I just finished teacher's college this past year. In my practicing teaching placement with Grade 5 I had a lot of fighting between students. I solved this problem by introducing a Health Unit on Interpersonal conflict in which we reenacted and discussed many different scenarios in which children face conflict. The children came up with solutions to the problems, some of which I could use in the classroom. The biggest emphasis was placed on teamwork in the groups and I created a bulletin board for 'Stars' each week which included the names of children who displayed good cooperation and teamwork skills in the classroom.
