From experience of working in classrooms with student teachers, I would make the suggestion that they have a real 'sit down' with their cooperating teacher and ask them what they expect of them. Also, this might be a good time to go over classroom policies and dicipline practices. Toes can be stepped on if your approach to classroom management is in complete opposition to the teachers. I don't think there is anything that can calm down the nerves of an soon to be student teacher. I know just the thought of it makes my stomach do kartwheels, and I am 35 years old!
