    stereotypes

    I agree with the posters about being careful with what stereotypes you are portraying. It's one thing to have a "cute" activity, and it's another thing to be culturally sensitive. Having a pow wow and making little Indian faces and eating them is not culturally sensitive. Put yourself in the place of Native Americans. How would you feel if you knew this was happening? Be careful with what you teach your children.

    Don't get me wrong, I highly encourage learning about different cultures. But learn about cultures from books, do authentic crafts (like making dream catchers), eat authentic foods, but make sure that what you're teaching the children is sensitive to the culture you're learning about and doesn't continue the stereotypes that Native cultures have been plagued with for so many years.
