Fish Foil Balloons
By StephR

Clip to ScrapBook
When I do an ocean unit I have the kids make "foil balloons". They are basically two pieces of foil, that are cut into the shape of a fish. The outside of the foil is colored with interesting patterns or designs using PERMANENT MARKERS. Then the two pieces of foil are laminated together. Then, when the fish is cut out of the larger piece of lamination, a small hole is made along the perimeter, a straw is inserted. Then you blow the newly formed "balloon" up, tape up the hole you made and hang with fishing wire from the ceiling. It looks like you are swimming under the bottom of the ocean with all these brightly colored fish!!

I have done this with 3rd, 4th and 5th...so 6th should love it just as equally!!
