centers
By stephanie a.

Clip to ScrapBook
I have similar centers. I have a word study center with several kind of word making, rhyming, word family, etc. ideas. I had tiles I purchased very cheaply from color tile and put letters on them with permanent marker. Using
pic cards, the students practice spelling CVC words by manipulating the tiles. then writing them down (so I can assess). I have done this with unifix cubes, as well. I also have silly sentences activities, alphabetizing, poetry center with changing responses to the poetry, a writing center, read-along center, buddy reading, read the room, and printing practice center. I don't have the
children rotate, but rather they know that by Friday they have specific "have to dos". I have number limits at a center, but I've never been good at managing a rotation. Also, some students need more/some less time at a particular activity.
