Time Lines
By Jennifer in OK

Clip to ScrapBook
The last 2 years, I have done this with my 4th and 5th graders. I have them create a time line of their life. I give guidelines that they can only include the 1st day of school in Kindergarten and the present school year. I asked my 4th graders for 10 events and 5th graders for 15 events in their life. It has to be about them. Not sister winning some big game. I also told them they had to be MAJOR events in their life. (Going to the grocery store just doesn't cut it.) We do go over the lesson with our SS book so they can see how they are used with history. I get that 8 1/2 by 14 paper and draw the line on it and write "The Time Line of ____" and print it on colored paper. The kids get a kick out of it.
