game

Clip to ScrapBook
I'm not sure if this is what you are looking for but my 1st graders last year made leaps and bounds of progress with reading their sight words by playing a game another teacher made called "BANG!" It's basically a flash
card game. The children take turns reading a flash card. If they read it correctly they get to keep the card. Play continues until someone gets the BANG! card and has to give their cards back. Whoever has the most at the end wins if you want a winner. Even my IEP kids learned their words this way. I also saw it posted on a site as Boo! The words were on pumpkins. We had 95 words
to learn. My reading groups would ask to play the game whenever we met. It was a filler if we finished ealry and it helped me check to see which words to review.
