Veteran's Day
By BuzyBee

Clip to ScrapBook
Some ideas...

Do you have a local hometown hero who could be your guest of honor? Maybe a graduate from your high school who has returned from Iraq. Ask around, maybe someone knows a young man or woman who would be willing
to come in and speak to the kids. It could be a patriotic rally for this person or people! Celebrate the Veteran's of today in an uplifting way.

Maybe you could contact a local recruiting office or VFW. Ask someone to come present something exciting like the patriotic folding of the flag, or honor guard (where they perform with the decorative rifles and precise movements).

Have

each child color and American flag and tape to a pencil. They could sing God Bless America or the NAtional Anthem and wave their flags.

Have students invite their grandparents who may be Veteran's from past wars. They could sit with them at the assembly.
