    Don't just sit out

This sounds a lot like the majority of my field experiences. In my first one, I had a teacher who literally showed me carpet samples and asked my opinion while I was filming a fellow intern give her lesson (it was a school requirement to have a tape of ourselves). The second field experience was about the same. So, I started student teaching this semester and spent 4 weeks grading papers, doing bulletin boards, and all the grunt work that my teacher didn't have time for. I said one thing to my supervisor and she spoke to the principal and I was out of there in less than a week. Things are much better now, so my advice, SPEAK UP! You are there to have a good experience and learn, and that doesn't mean just learning how to work the copy machine! Good luck, don't let this be another thing you have to "get through" it should be enjoyable!
