I had this conversation with my class
By Carolyn

Clip to ScrapBook
Lana, I have a student with Autism who is included in my room. He is with us all day (except for pullout time with the Speech Teacher). The first week of school we read a book called Ian's Walk: A Story About Autism. My
student was present for the conversation, but he has parents who are very upfront with him. We also gave him the choice to stay or go.

It was a nice way for us to talk about how we all learn differently and have different strengths and weaknesses.

I'm sure you've handled this already, but I thought I would pass on what we did...
