Sub Help
By Sub Teach

Clip to ScrapBook
Hi! Yes, you will want to have a "bag of tricks" for those times when plans are little or nonexistent. Most of the time the teachers are good about leaving clear plans, but there are exceptions. It is good to learn what
you can about the school and district(s) you sub in. There are a few substitute teachers survial guides on the web (one that can be downloaded and others you can order). You also might want to check out the local teacher supply store for a book for subs. You can sometimes find a good one there. If you are pursuing teaching, you may also want to own a First Year Teacher's Survival Kit
book before you start full time. There are good ones out there. My favorite must have reads are: The First Days of School by Harry Wong, Teaching with Love and Logic, and The Essential 55 by Ron Clark. Read up ahead of time and have fun. Best wishes for your succes.
