I'm a believer

Hi, I'm glad there are teacher out there that want to give this program a chance. You wouldn't believe the difference it has made in our kids. Our school adopted the program last year in kindergarten. We began using it| this year. I am 1 month into the school year and I am truly sold on Zoo-Phonics. Children actually retained their letters and sounds during the summer. This is not usually the case at our school. We have to spend a lot of time back-tracking in 1st. I was already able to start spelling and writing lessons with the program. I do not use it as reading because we have another curriculum | |
we are required to use. The only drawback is that our students, teachers, and school are evaluated using some timed tests. When some of the children were taking their baseline assessments they were slowed down with all the hand movements and received poorer scores. However, the benefits of this kinesthetic approach outweigh the other, I think!
