Whole Class
By SarahR

Clip to ScrapBook
My class attempted webquests last year. My school was lucky enough to get a grant and build a portable lab. I had enough laptops for children to use in pairs. They were really excited about our project. However, the reality
turned out to be soured by the technology itself. We consistently had difficulty with sites/links being off-line or, in some cases, no longer accessible. Then, I was stuck with the problem of what those children should do then.

I am going to try a different strategy this year - a whole class WebQuest. My school has a SmartBoard on loan for half a year. With this, I can project

the websites for the whole class to see. If you don't have a SmartBoard, it would be a great item to write a grant for.

I think that WebQuests are a neat teaching tool...they certainly are motivating to the students. If anyone has any other ideas on how to implement them, I would love to hear them.
