No way should a principal tell us what to wear. Most of the elem. teachers in our board dress in comfy clothes. Why? Because they do tons of hands-on projects, sit on the floor, etc. Use glue, build, paint. You name it. One | elem. teacher I knew, wore expensive spike heels all the time. One day little Steven got sick and ralphed all over her $300 blue suede shoes. Hahahahahahahahahah!!!! She was wailing like Pavarotti's ex-wife. "Whyyyyyyyyy did you throw up on my shoes?" I should wear whatever makes me feel comfortable.There is no dress code for teachers in my school. There is a guideline for students. Tops must meet bottoms, no rude t-shirts, no hats, no wearing outside clothes in the classroom. No buttcrack pants for boys. If I wanna see buttcrack, I'll call my plumber!
