Get in there!
By Mary

Clip to ScrapBook
I know what you mean about feeling awkward. I have been a TA in a class now for 2 years. (getting myself ready for teaching)
When I first started, I didn't know what to do! I just stood off to the side and answered the
usual questions, "who are you?" "will you be here everyday?" (a little strange at first)
Just get in there and help. Trust me, the teacher will appreciate it.
This past year, which was my second year but with a new teacher, I just jumped right in and started helping by walking around and keeping students on track. The Teacher thanked me every day for jumping in.
With only being
there 1 day a week, it is hard, but soon those students will be watching the clock waiting for you to come in.
It's an awesome feeling, that first hug you get letting you know that they are so happy to see you.
You just can't beat it.
Good luck!
