if u r in GA...

Clip to ScrapBook
If you teach in GA:
I attended a workshop this morning and it covered how we should be placing SP.ED. students in grade levels in high school. Now, we are to place them in each grade once until 12th. They will be placed
in 12th until they turn 22 and graduate. We are supposed to do this because of testing results. The SP ED students staying in 11th grade twice and not being tested are causing schools to fail on Bush's NCLB. They are not taking the 11th grade tests and 95% of the students must be tested. Schools are not meeting this due to the fact that some SP Ed students will not be tested because
of their functional level. However, all students now have to be assessed somehow. That's where GAA comes in. The students that will not be taking these tests will have to take the GAA. (GEORGIA ALTERNATIVE ASSESSMENT)

GEE---don't you love the wonderful world of education! All this means is more darn paper work.
