Holes
By Jodi

Clip to ScrapBook
Sometimes when you ask kids not to do something, its exactly what they want to do. What I usually do is plan ahead. For example, I read Holes to my kids at the beginning of the year so I checked to see when it was coming
out on Video and so I knew I had to plan to be done by then. That way we were finished with the book by the time it was released on video.
I lead my children to believe the book is going to be different than the movie. This way I'm telling them they are going to be detectives and find how they are different. You could have your student still write a response about what you read vs.
the movie and maybe have him include why he thinks they kept it the same or why they changed it (sort of like identifying foreshadowing) Don't be to bummed...the rest of your class will love the movie reward in the end
