If you have a union, ask someone who is a part of it. If your contract says you are to be there from 7:45 - 3:00, then this person is not following the contract. Sure, we all have those days where we have appointments,
etc., but every day? It would irritate me too to see someone slacking on their duty.

You could investigate the pick up time at her day care. Talk to her about looking for a daycare for your child and lead into asking the times it is open. This would let you know the real time or if she is just wanting to get out the duty and school. I'm with the others on not knowing a daycare that

closes that early - much less penalizing people who are past a certain time.

This is a tricky situation and you have to weigh the pros and cons. A part of me agrees with the other posters about treading lightly, but then there's that part of me that would be irked at someone else doing this.
