Catholic school teaching
By bcourtney

Clip to ScrapBook
Hello: I have worked in both public and private school settings. I cannot begin to compare the difference in environment. The Catholic school offers an education that develops the whole child by including spiritual growth
and an opportunity for a teacher to further their spiritual growth as well. This to me is the greatest reward in Catholic education. When I was first hired, I was not the "bread winner" in the family so the salary was not an issue. I was rewarded with much more respect at the Catholic school which I considered to be a "bonus". I am in my 7th year and continue to feel blessed that
I found my place in the Catholic school system. My husband of 28 years died from colon cancer 3 years ago and so yes, I am the "bread winner". The support I have received from the students, staff and the entire school community continues to amaze me. I would not change jobs for a higher salary as the benefits of the Catholic school environment far outweigh the value of a dollar.
