half a day
By Lisa

Clip to ScrapBook
I've subbed half a day quite a few times in elementary schools and have found its not too bad at all. First of all, often times when you arrive, the regular classroom teacher is still there, waiting for you to relieve her
so she can leave for the day so she may be able to fill you in personally about the plans, introduce you to the class, show you where things are etc. Also, if you have a prep period (if the class has a special like art or something) your afternoon will fly by when that takes out a good chunk of it. There won't be alot of prep time for checking the plans ahead of time or setting up but
if they happen to have lunch when you arrive or right after you arrive then you may be able to use some of that time to your advantage. I'd say subbing for the second half of the day will fly by and it will be dismissal before you know it. Good luck
