Multiplication games
By JR

Clip to ScrapBook
My students love this game.

(my students sit in tables but if yours don't put them into small groups) Tell them you are going to study your 6 facts, and give them a minute to study with their group. Then start with group
1. The first person will say 6 times 1 is 6, the next person will say 6 times 2 is 12, the next person will say 6 times 3 is 18, and so on until you get to 10 (or 12). All the while you are timing the group. Write their time on the board and then move on to Group 2. They love the competitive nature of the game, and during their free time they will work with their team by practicing
facts, ecspecially with the students who don't know their facts very well.

My kids also love: Multiplication BINGO, the game Flash on the internet, I also asign a fact to each student and when I want to call of them I say their fact and they must respond with the answer.
Hope this helps!
