NCLB
By Judy

Clip to ScrapBook
In a perfect world, NCLB would be a great goal. However, if we went to the police chief and told him that by 2006 he had to totally do away with crime, we would get laughed out the back door. But society expects teachers
to do it with all the kids in the world. We seem to have forgotten that children have a will that although we can bend, we can not recreate it. I teach in middle school and some of the students are so intelligent but want to look dumb and make bad grades to "fit in" with a certain crowd. How do you fight that as a teacher? I have never seen a teacher that did not want all of his or her
students to be successful. We certainly do not do this for the money. That said, I think NCLB will be 'modified' in a couple years. After about the 3rd year of so much stress that we are all at our rope's end, the government will see that they will either have munity or have to back down. Just my opinion.
