Clip to ScrapBook
With more and more students not celebrating Halloween due to religious reasons and the dangers associated with going door-to-door, at out school we have a Fall Festival. Every child, teacher, and staff memeber brings in
a bag of individually wrapped candy. Then classes go around playing games that are set up around the school. Every child goes home with a full bag of candy. We've never had a problem collecting candy and we literally have garbage cans full of candy. We are a PreK-5 school, so PreK-2 has their fun in the morning, and 3-5 has their fun in the afternoon. It is a fun day for everyone, but
whew!

As for the candy problem after Halloween, we don't have a problem. For lunch, students are allowed to bring 2 pieces of candy. Students know they will lose their candy if they do not follow this rule. But yes, kids will be kids, but one of my smart 5th graders got around this by offering me his extra candy. (Ya gotta love kids)

Hope this helps
