Kindergarten Blues

Wow - someone else feels like I do! I am new to teaching (2nd year without a permanant job). I take long term sub assignments and this year I got placed in a Kin. class on the 1st day of school -- and I DO NOT like it at| all. I feel like I am going nuts. I taught 2nd grade last year and loved my job! I was so happy planning my lessons and getting involved with new activities. NOT THIS YEAR. I feel like a babysitter, not a teacher. The only advice I can give you is what I have been doing. Take it day by day. I have to make myself get up and go in there everyday and I put a smile on and get through | |
it somehow. If someone told me I had to stay all year I really dont know what I would do. Before you hang it up - is it possible that next year you could request a transfer? Good luck too you and a big thumbs up for all you kindergarten teachers out there. I have the utmost respect for your dedication.
