don't worry!
By Erika

Clip to ScrapBook
Hollie, I think you will find that Kindergarten will certainly have its challenges since you are used to a first grade setting. I did my student teaching in first grade and will begin teaching kindergarten next week and
already have discovered that there is so much growth that occurs during the kindergarten school year. While on one hand, you will not be able to do many of the same activities with the kindergarteners that you planned for first grade, remember that you will not have to plan quite as much structure in your day. Of course you will have to be organized, but in kindergarten I believe that
most of the learning should occur at centers through hands on discovery. I am planning on having three large group circle times and centers that reinforce what we talk about in the large group. During center time, which makes up a bulk of the time I will also work with small groups. So, don't worry because things will fall into place. Kindergarten is a year of transition and tremendous growth, but if you stay organized and open you will be fine! Good luck!!
