Clip to ScrapBook
Wow, that's my story too. I am also in my fourth year of teaching (grade 4) and I am contimplating leaving at the end of the year already. The difference for me is that I live about 1 hour away from the district that I
currently work in so that also factors into my decision. Tenure really means little to me. I teach in an urban district and it is getting to the point that I am burning out there. Principal is never around and when he is he is not approachable (unless he wants something) VP never does the job (tries to keep suspension rate at our school low so he looks good. so kids can have a fight
and only end up with a morning detention) I love teaching, don't get me wrong, but I feel like half of these kids only come to school because their parents need babysitters. I am going to start the job search process early this year (maybe around January) and I don't care if I find something in 4th grade or not as long as I don't have to go back there next year.
