It all depends

I think it really does depend on each person to a degree. Teachers with families obviously have less "free" time than those without. And teachers who are involved with many other things will also have less time.

I think
it comes down to this.

- If you resent how much time you are spending
- If you do not have a social life
- If you can't remember the last time you relaxed
- If you never take a weekend off
- If you feel stressed

Then you are spending way too much time after hours with school work.

I do bring some work home - it's just easier for me to do at home.

However I rarely go

into the school on weekends and I do go out visiting, watch movies, read books, listen to music, etc.,

As teachers we could spend 24 hours a day preparing for school and teaching and still have things we could make, create, mark, put on display, clean, organize, etc.,

So as long as your students are learning and you are enjoying your work as well as your private life then I think you have the right balance.
